A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,250 if correct (৳250 profit + original ৳1,000). Favourites have lower odds because they are considered more likely to win.
A real cricket match winner example: if Team A's odds are 1.45 and Team B's odds are 2.75, a ৳1,000 bet on Team B returns ৳2,750 if Team B wins (৳1,750 profit); if Team A wins, ৳1,000 is lost. These numbers are only for explaining the format.
